CPD
Supply Danoline Designpanels to New BBC Media
Village
Over 1500m² of Danoline gypsum Designpanels
for the new BBC Media Village, White City, have been
supplied in a phased delivery by the Hayes branch
of CPD Distribution PLC to sub-contractors Cirus
and Clark & Fenn Skanska for large areas of walls
and ceilings in two of the new buildings within the
six-building complex.
Designpanel was chosen as it offers a monolithic,
smooth, modern appearance, with no visible joints,
and excellent acoustic performance to challenging
standards. After performance data supplied by Danoline
had been examined and approved by Buro Happold, acoustic
consultants, the Designpanels were specified for
this prestigious contract by the architects, Allies
and Morrison. For acoustic and aesthetic reasons,
a microperforation, 3-band pattern was selected in
a special size, 1000mm wide x 1500mm long x 12.5mm
deep.
Working in close partnership with Danoline, CPD
ensured the Designpanels for the BBC were manufactured
to the highest standards and delivered cost-effectively
and on time (with storage instructions) to customer
stipulations.
Says a Cirus Senior Project Manager: "We received
a high level of excellent service from CPD and can
confirm a good working relationship with the company.
All our deadlines were met efficiently, courteously
and speedily and there was no damage to the boards.
We were able to place our orders with CPD from stock
because Danoline had manufactured all 1,000 Designpanels
for this project in advance. Prior to the order being
placed, we carried out trials on the gypsum boards
on site with Danoline whose product expert offered
us invaluable technical assistance."
The main contractor for the project was Bovis Lend
Lease. (back)
